The total volume of the first six months of 2010 reached 225 TWh, with a healthy 12% growth compared to the total volume of the same period last year. The total number of memberships increased from 328 at the end of 2009 to 343 at the end of first half of 2010.
The TTF Gas futures and Gas NL spot markets in particular have seen a successful first half of the year as the total volumes traded and cleared on the APX-ENDEX TTF Gas market during the first half of 2010 went up by over 150% year-on-year to 81 TWh. The Gas NL spot market especially has seen increased liquidity as well as memberships as the TTF Gas market had five new members joining the markets, as well as two market makers joining the Gas NL spot market.
The Power NL spot volumes have experienced an increase of 14% year-on-year while the UK spot market has seen stable volumes, reaching yearly target volumes.
